We are working with a leading eVTOL client who have a requirement for a Loads and Aeroelastic Engineer to join their business on an initial 6 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business in its development phase.
  
Project description:
- Determine aircraft static and dynamic loads for this unique configuration and envelope.
- Perform linear aeroelastic simulations.
- Support the development multibody dynamics and the calculation of ground loads.
- Support the definition of modelling strategies to analyse the aircraft behaviour.
- Support the validation of aircraft models with the aid of on-ground and in-flight testing results.
  
Additional requirements:
- M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineer.
- 5+ years of experience in* Loads and Aeroelastic computations.
- Proficiency in using
 Nastran and scripting languages (Python, MATLAB) is a must.
- Experience in correcting DLM with CFD and/or wind tunnel test results is highly appreciated.
- Proficiency with Multibody Dynamics codes (Motion Solve, Adams, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with control systems and Aeroservoelasticity is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting the aircraft certification processes is a plus.
- Target-oriented, driven work style with analytic problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.

We have partnered with an exciting and well backed eVTOL business based in Japan, there vision and dedication to succeed puts them in a unique position to one of the leaders in the next generation flight/eVTOL/’flying car’ sector.
  
You will be responsible for the development of the battery management system (BMS) for the flying car.
  
- Study the BMS specifications and create the required specifications based on the aircraft system requirements and battery specifications.
- Request design and manufacturing to partners, and conduct coupling tests and analysis with the airframe system and battery.
- (e.g., analysis and evaluation of battery measurements/SOC status estimates, evaluation of communication with aircraft systems, etc.)
- Safety analysis (FTA, FMEA, etc.) to obtain type certification, and compilation of evidence for design review/evaluation results, etc.
- Relationship building with partners
- Implementation of partner selection, control, quality audit, etc.
  
Since the business is involved in the entire process from specification development to actual testing, from upstream to downstream, it is an environment where you can strongly feel that you have created the product with your own hands.

The lithium-ion battery used in the flying car must have a large capacity and light weight in order to “fly safely”, and above all, it must be safe and reliable.

In addition, as a small and elite development team, you will be involved in upstream processes such as the formulation of requirement specifications, and you will be involved in a wide range of technical elements that make up the battery, such as cells, packs, and controls. This is an environment where you can fully feel the satisfaction of having created the battery control system for a flying car with your own hands.

Experience in ECU/microcomputer board software or hardware development (at least 5 years in either case

One of the following
1. Experience in the development of eVTOL, automotive and/or aircraft ECUs
2. Experience in functional safety development
3. Experience in the development of battery SOC/SOH state estimation control logic.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver custom development Projects on time, on budget and to specification ensuring Projects are properly planned, resourced and executed in line with internal processes.
- Assist with proposals and project justification by gathering and reviewing preliminary information for the development collected from various internal and external stakeholders such as customers, GBM’s and Engineers.
- Create and implement a Project Management Plan identifying project scope, tasks, milestones, deliverables, budget, stakeholders, risks and any other key information needed to deliver the project successfully.

Our client is looking for somebody who has an innovative mind and enjoys the challenge of working on cutting-edge technology within a highly specialised market to be a key figurehead in the R&D team, working closely with engineers from various departments including mechanical, hardware, test & production. Ideally, you'll have experience of leading projects, making key product development decisions, and managing key stakeholders (internal and external). 
  
In addition to a formal qualification (MEng, BEng, HND, etc) in Electronics & Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline, you should be able to demonstrate strong skills and experience in the following: 
- Exceptional Embedded C/C++ programming skills
- Familiarity with a range of microprocessors, including ARM Cortex (other brands would also be valuable)
- Working knowledge of FreeRTOS development platform for embedded systems
- Comfortable developing electronics products which utilise a variety of different wireless communication protocols (BLE, WiFi, Zigbee, MQTT)
