Position Overview:
An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for aerospace will join the team. Tasks

- Excellent CAD and PLM knowledge: Part design, DWGs, DMU management

Experience
● At least 4 years of experience developing electric motors and powertrain systems.
Including fully owning the CAD and manufacturing drawings.
● Excellent first-principle physics understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, power delivery, energy storage and transformation, and basic thermodynamics.
● Proven capability of conducting high-quality research and development.
● Ability to evaluate powertrain attributes such as performance curves, efficiency, etc.
● Experience in modelling and testing of electrical machines.
● Experience in rotor dynamics, shafts design, bearings, gears, GD&T for serial
manufacturing.
● Familiar with all manufacturing and QC processes usually involved in the
production of powerful electric motors.
● Experience with 3D modelling packages and FEA modelling tools.

Nice to have
● Direct experience using electromagnetic design tools.
● Direct experience with electric machine manufacturing tooling, standard motor tests and associated equipment, and motor/drive integration testing.
● Knowledge in feedback control theory, optimal controller design, sensor/ sensor less motor control, etc.
● Experience with CAD and/or analysis programs such as PT Creo, MATLAB, or similar
● Knowledge of concepts like value proposition, business models, marketing.
● Demonstrate Formula SAE/Student experience.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview:
An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for aerospace will join the team. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong applied engineering skills and an aptitude for leading small engineering teams and projects. Support the propulsion and vehicle teams as the focal point for leading mechanical design projects (Airframe, Propulsion, Landing gear, flight controls) through the entire design life cycle.
 
Tasks
- Lead design projects for aerospace components and systems from the conceptual phase through manufacturing to integration and testing
- Generate 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other related documentation required for manufacturing, integration and testing
- Deliver technical documentation including any engineering calculations, analysis and assumptions required to substantiate your design decisions and solutions
- Prepare and participate in design reviews
- Manage suppliers and manufacturers by addressing any technical questions and resolving any issues which may arise during the manufacturing process
- Select standard parts, fasteners, equipment and consumables following best practices and industry standards
- Contribute to the DMU and configuration management

Requirements
- MSc. in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Technician qualifications with substantial experience would also be considered.
- +5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industry
- Strong knowledge of the manufacturing and assembly processes: machining, sheet metal forming, composites and additive manufacturing
- Excellent CAD and PLM knowledge: Part design, DWGs, DMU management
- Good engineering material properties knowledge
- Strong engineering fundamentals and analytical skills: dimensioning calculations, load path definitions, basic stress calculations, energy and power
- Seal and fastener design knowledge
- Auxiliary component selection – general electro/mechanical components
- ISO GD&T knowledge required
- Fluent in English as a working language. Dutch language is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Siemens tool suite: NX, and TeamCenter PLM system, would be a plus
- Experience with Metallic and composite structure design would be beneficial
- Good to have experience with hydraulics, fuel systems and component design

UAV Systems Engineer

Position Overview
Contribute to the design, development and optimization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and their associated systems, including the Systems and Hardware (HW) definition. Your role will involve creating comprehensive system and wiring diagrams to guide the integration and assembly process. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the entire UAV lifecycle from concept to deployment.
 
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in UAV systems engineering, with a focus on HW and systems architecture definition preferably in the aerospace or Defence industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Siemens NX) for 3D modelling and design, creating system diagrams and wiring diagrams would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion systems, avionics, electrical systems, signal routing and power distribution for UAV subsystems.
- Experience with system integration, assembly and testing processes.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for UAV design and operation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with writing SORAs and past interaction with EASA is desired.
- Demonstrable experience in real UAV flight testing would be an asset.
- Demonstrable experience as a GCS Operator and External Pilot would be an asset.
