DevOps & Cloud
Recruiting engineering talent requires a strategic approach that mirrors the dynamic nature of the field itself. In a landscape where DevOps is continuously evolving, bringing together a range of skills within IT and computer science, they are statistically the most sought-after talent across the entire technical ecosystem.
Our recruitment strategy focuses on getting it right for both our clients and candidates, for the wider diverse communities we are building, and ensuring we provide an equitable, quality service across all areas to accommodate for every individual need.
DevOps & Cloud
The simple answer, DevOps is in a constant state of flux.
Being a radical blend of cultural and technical disciplines, DevOps has been substantially augmented by the uptake of AI at every cornerstone of the software development life cycle. Alongside the influence of technological advancement, emergent disciplines such as platform engineering have raised challenging conversations about the future of DevOps.
Platform engineering is, in many ways, a natural evolution of the DevOps philosophy – collaboration, automation, culture, and delivery. It’s unlikely to replace the need for DevOps candidates any time soon, but it will change the way employers build tech teams in the coming years. As a dynamic and highly collaborative function, conversations around workforce diversity (or lack thereof) are taking centre stage in the modern DevOps landscape.
Companies are making progress in increasing representation, although a steep hill to equity awaits the wider industry. Addressing this lack of diversity is instrumental in closing skill gaps, catalysing innovation, and creating a more accessible tech landscape.
DevOps has traditionally been seen as a cost centre, hence why functions were amongst the first to feel the strain of rampant tech layoffs at the start of 2023. Consequently, hiring across many regions, including DACH, Benelux, and the US, slowed down throughout the year.
Despite this, the DevOps market is still forecast to grow at 20% CAGR (compound annual growth rate) in the next ten years (Source: Global Market Insights, 2023).
The tide is turning as decision-makers recognise that they need a robust, well-maintained system, and DevOps engineers are integral to its performance and reliability.
