Senior IT Engineer

Salary GBP – up to £45,000
Location – Exeter (On-site)
 
The Role:
Our client is a leading global company in the world of technology, and they are now looking to add a specialist within IT & Infrastructure for their Exeter site.
As a Senior IT Engineer, the role will involve taking the sole lead on all IT responsibilities for that site and cross-work with the IT department. Occasional remote support to other sites may be required.

Someone who is driven and can work independently would be successful in this position.

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot industrial network devices (switches/routers) and integrate them into the IT infrastructure
- Support site-based IT systems and collaborate with enterprise IT support teams
- Follow ITSM processes - asset, change, incident, request, problem, and project management to maintain service levels
- Deploy, configure, and support hardware (PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers), operating systems, and productivity software for end users
- Provide hardware support for PCs, OT systems, hand scanners, printers, switches, wireless access points, and virtual machines
- Update and review the IT disaster recovery plan annually with stakeholders
- Provide critical out-of-hours support, including on-call duties and scheduled weekend work, while collaborating closely with the facilities and maintenance teams, with occasional travel required

Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in a similar Senior IT role
- Windows Operating Systems (7-11)
- Support and troubleshoot various hardware including networked/non-networked PCs, OT systems, hand scanners, printers, switches, wireless access points, virtual machines, UPS, R&D labs, and mobile phones.
- Skilled in resolving issues with wired and wireless networks & Server maintenance
- Adaptable to complex IT environments involving multiple operating systems, networks, and devices
- Strong customer service skills, effective communicator, and experience with IT Service Management (ITIL)
