Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Wireless/IoT Products

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join one of our R&D clients who are based in Kent. The company in question are looking for somebody with a strong background in embedded systems design and an appreciation of hardware development, to join their ever-growing team as they look to bring more of their R&D activities in-house.

Our client is looking for somebody who has an innovative mind and enjoys the challenge of working on cutting-edge technology within a highly specialised market to be a key figurehead in the R&D team, working closely with engineers from various departments including mechanical, hardware, test & production. Ideally, you'll have experience in leading projects, making key product development decisions, and managing key stakeholders (internal and external). 
  
In addition to a formal qualification (MEng, BEng, HND, etc) in Electronics & Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline, you should be able to demonstrate strong skills and experience in the following: 
- Exceptional Embedded C/C++ programming skills
- Familiarity with a range of microprocessors, including ARM Cortex (other brands would also be valuable)
- Working knowledge of FreeRTOS development platform for embedded systems
- Comfortable developing electronics products which utilise a variety of different wireless communication protocols (BLE, WiFi, Zigbee, MQTT)
- Prior experience with low-power stepper motors would be advantageous
- Previous experience working within the consumer electronics market would be advantageous but is not essential
