Senior Design Engineer – HV (Substations)

Locations: Manchester/Warwick/Manchester/Derby (Hybrid working)
Salary: £45-60k + Car/Travel allowance

Our client is looking for a Senior HV Substations Engineer to join their rapidly expanding team, working on some of the most complex and high-profile transmission projects across the UK. The role offers an opportunity to grow into a leadership position while supporting key projects for major clients like National Grid and SSE.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design work on HV substations (132kV+), including single line diagrams, equipment specifications, and dynamic force calculations.
- Oversee project delivery from concept to detailed design, providing mentoring to junior engineers and guiding CAD technicians.
- Engage in project management, including fee, contract, and resource management.
- Support tender work and client engagements, ensuring projects meet budget and timeline expectations.
- Once established, take on leadership responsibilities and support team growth.

Ideal Candidate:
- 4+ years of experience in HV substation design (132kV+), preferably with National Grid or Scottish & Southern Electricity experience.
