One of the most innovative Robotics solutions companies around, they create security devices used by governments all over the world. With headquarters in 4 countries, they are fast-growing and offer a fantastic opportunity for a Perception Engineer based in Bristol.
  
The Role
This is a strategic role to support the development of autonomous systems. Ideally, you will have experience specific to drones, combined with computer vision/ML for object/target detection. Able to test your system within 3D Simulated environments, and work closely with the Software and Hardware Teams to develop your products.
 
Main Responsibilities
- Develop perception and control systems with advanced sensing solutions.
- Interface between Software and Hardware Teams.
- Evaluate and select appropriate hardware for perception (sensors, processors etc.).
- Liaise with suppliers.
- Develop ML-based control algorithms for target tracking.
- Prove your system using 3D simulation methods.
- Continuously develop advanced perception and autonomous systems.

Experience
- At least 3 years' experience in the development of autonomous products
- Working knowledge of sensors (LIDAR, IR Cameras, Radar etc) commonly used in small autonomous systems and hands-on experience of integration and testing.
- Experience with MS AirSim, Gazebo (or similar simulation tools) will be beneficial
- Good software developer.
- Ideal stack - Python, TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch
- Strong Python knowledge is important both for data analysis and integration.
- Experience working on Linux (ideally)
- Ability to operate autonomously as the perception expert in a multidisciplinary team
- Clear communicator with an ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-experts.
