LIMS/Pathology IT Test Manager

Permanent - £60-65,000 per annum + package
Remote-based (with customer site visits within the UK)

We are currently recruiting for a brand-new position for an experienced and motivated Test Lead or Test Manager to join a Healthcare IT software vendor at an exciting time of their growth, in order to support the implementation of their LIMS solution into several NHS pathology partnerships across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside the wider project team to create the test strategy, test plan, test scripts and data, in addition to providing leadership to the rest of the testing team.

Working proactively with NHS customers, the Test Manager will lead the design of the testing process for our products to ensure they function in line with the customer’s requirements and deliver expected results in line with our quality standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing expert advice on the overall testing process and lead the development of the Testing Strategy, Testing deliverables (Test Plans, Test Execution, Test Reports etc) in accordance with user requirements and agreed contractual specifications.
- Design, develop, evaluate, prioritise and update test scenarios, test plans and test procedures as necessary.
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to understand product specifics and create corresponding test strategies.
- Using our toolkit to track, prioritise and drive the resolution of issues detected while testing.
- Serve as subject matter expert and provide guidance around testing to support the user requirements of a complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.
- Design and develop executable test procedures for interfaces, device integration, data migration and regression testing.
- Develop the project resource estimates, define metrics to track the completion of the testing phase, defect reports, defect prevention, development efficiency and quality.
- Identify opportunities to continually improve testing methodologies, tools and techniques in line with industry best practice to reduce costs and improve quality.
- Lead, motivate and manage the testing team and resources.
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces

Qualifications
Due to the nature of this role you will need to be flexible in your working arrangements, working alongside customers at their sites and involving travel and nights away from home.

• 5+ years of experience with developing test strategies, plans, and scripts.
• 5+ years of experience in back-end and front-end testing including interfaces and data migration
• At least 2-3 years of Test Lead experience as a Test Manager
• Demonstrable experience working on a LIMS or Pathology project within public healthcare, ideally a full lifecycle implementation/upgrade
• Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a testing team
• Experience working in an agile software development team environment
