Head of Platform Engineering

Salary: £120,000 base
Security Clearance: SC Clearance required
Location: Bristol - Hybrid

A leading defence tech scale-up is seeking a dynamic Head of Platform Engineering to guide their platform team. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Craft and implement the technical strategy for secure mission platforms.
- Stakeholder Management: Align engineering projects with business objectives and clearly communicate plans to stakeholders.
- Development Oversight: Manage the entire software development lifecycle, with a focus on quality and security.
- Team Building: Assemble and lead a high-calibre engineering team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and integrate cutting-edge technologies into product development.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Adaptability: Quickly learn new concepts and make informed decisions.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in developing scalable, high-performance systems and a solid understanding of cybersecurity.
- Leadership: Proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Communication: Ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Documentation: Skill in creating clear technical documentation and architectural diagrams.

Preferred Background:
