We are currently recruiting for motivated and knowledgeable candidates with excellent experience in histopathology and Digital Pathology solutions, to join an industry leading software vendor in the medical imaging and digital pathology space as an Application Specialist.
The Digital Pathology Application Specialist will be responsible for working closely with customers in both public and private healthcare settings as a product expert for their Digital Pathology solution, conducting analysis of their histopathology workflows, contributing to solution design, and providing close support through deployment including documentation and training as required.
Ideal applicants for this position will have experience working as a Biomedical Scientist, ideally in Histopathology, and also have prior knowledge experience in, or a passion for IT and the digitisation of lab processes. Previous experience working directly with a Digital Pathology solution, or as an Application Specialist for a software vendor in a domain such as LIMS/LIS/PACS/RIS will be looked upon extremely favourably.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and web-based training as well as classroom training
- Make new site deployment configurations and workflow analysis
- Create internal and external documents
- Work closely with Professional Services, Technical Support and Sales Departments to provide application knowledge and support, and be involved in deployment activities including delivering training to trusts and private hospitals
- Become an important point of reference for all application queries, from customers and other internal contacts and departments
- Be part of a team with good colleagues, where you are responsible for helping clients with operating support, configuration and training
- Help customers with workflow analyses and business improvements to make them as effective as possible in their daily work
- Be an important contact person for application issues, both for customers and internally within the company
- Your daily work will be carried out in close cooperation with customers and end users, primarily in the UK & Ireland, which means regular travel and work at the customers’ premises.
Key skills required:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Science or similar, or in IT/engineering with demonstrable experience in this sector
- Experience working in the Histopathology domain, or directly with Digital Pathology or LIMS/LIS applications as a BMS, ideally with some experience in business/requirement analysis
- Prior experience working as an Application or Implementation Specialist will be viewed highly favourably
- Fluent in English both verbally and written
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A strong interest in usability and medical IT
- Have excellent customer service skills as well as verbal, written, listening and presenting skills
