General Description:
You are part of the team responsible for the effective leadership and management of the aerospace materiel production and maintenance function. Responsible for the planning and overseeing of the manufacture, assembly and testing of components, delivery of parts and component maintenance within the scope of approval, and planning and supervising the installation and commissioning of avionics modifications on customer aircraft.
Role Accountabilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise a team of skilled technicians in the production of parts from drawings to meet or exceed customer, regulatory and company standards.
- Work under Part 21G and Part 145 regulations.
- Assist in establishing, maintaining and improving work processes, worksheets and production/maintenance planning system.
- Assist with the production, maintenance and installation planning, working collaboratively with the project managers, design team, supply chain team and customer Part 145.
- Work alongside the design team to ensure high standards and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate personnel schedule to ensure performance to budget and schedule.
- Support and execute production activities including kitting of parts and materials in accordance with design data, issuance of parts and kits, managing the introduction of production changes in a controlled manner.
- Ensure compliance with company Production Organisation Exposition and Maintenance Organisation Exposition, and other company manuals.
- Assist the production and maintenance manager to ensure production and maintenance staff, including technicians, inspectors and certifying staff, are provided with sufficient technical training.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improving production and maintenance practices through a culture of continuous improvement.
- Issue UK CAA Form 1 certificates for new and repair parts if and as delegated.
- May be required to assist with aircraft modification planning or lead/supervise installation team as the projects require.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Attributes:
- EASA or UK CAA Part 66 B2 license for multi-engine rotorcraft or multi-engine airplane.
- Completed a recognised civilian apprenticeship or military equivalent qualification.
- Sound knowledge of civil regulatory requirements.
- Strong background in aerospace production and maintenance, with at least 8 years’ experience working within the aviation environment, specifically in the areas of aircraft modifications, maintenance or production.
- Possess a high degree of hand skills and dexterity.
- Familiarity with the use of avionics related equipment, and the safety practices for working in an aviation production and maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of EWIS and awareness of human factors in aviation maintenance/production environment
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with peers, managers and suppliers.
- Ability to lead and mentor staff in a team
- A proactive attitude that brings drive, energy and passion to the role
- Rigorous attention to detail and procedures.
- Demonstrate innovative and ethical thinking in the application of solutions
- Ability to deliver tasks on time and with a high degree of autonomy and accuracy, whilst maintaining momentum under pressure

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Attributes:
- H135, H145, AW139, AW169, AW189 or S92 experience an advantage but not a necessity
- Experience in team leadership and people management
- High emotional intelligence - listens and questions effectively, concise verbal and written communication skills and effective questioning/listening skills.
- Understanding of own specialism within wider contexts
- If not a UK national then from a NATO country to enable eligibility for security clearance if required
