Structural Analysis Engineer for Aircraft Energy Storage Systems

Position: Structural Analysis Engineer
Location: Germany
Duration: 6 Months (Remote Work Possible)

Our client is a leading aerospace company at the forefront of innovation in sustainable aviation. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team. If you have a passion for aircraft structural components and energy storage systems, and you're ready to make a significant impact in the aerospace industry, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of energy storage systems for aircraft.

Your responsibilities will include:
·      Sizing and stress analysis of aircraft structural components and their interfaces related to the energy storage system, including battery casings and attachment brackets.
·      Providing support for battery cell and energy storage module design throughout the product development process.
·      Creating, managing, and validating detailed Finite Element (FE) models of complete energy storage system structures and their installations.
·      Producing clear and concise technical reports and documentation.
·      Actively defining modelling methods and optimization techniques to enhance product development efficiency.
·      Taking full responsibility for all structural analysis methods relevant to energy storage systems, and communicating updates to the methods & tools team.
·      Collaborating closely with Engineers from Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and System Testing.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
·      M.Sc./M.Eng. or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
·      10+ years of experience in structural analysis, preferably with a focus on aircraft structures and energy storage-related components.
·      Excellent knowledge of stress, fatigue, and structural dynamics analysis methods following established standards.
·      In-depth understanding of loading scenarios and mechanical behaviour of air vehicle structures, energy storage systems, and their installations.
·      Extensive working experience with commercial implicit tools (knowledge of OptiStruct, Nastran, and their corresponding pre/post-processors preferred) and explicit FE codes (i.e., LS-DYNA, Radioss).
·      Strong experience with composite materials and their structural behaviour.
·      Knowledge of adhesives and non-structural materials (i.e., foam and rubber materials).
·      Experience in battery cell modelling at both structural/vehicle and module/cell levels.
·      Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytical problem-solving skills and strong reporting and presentation abilities.
·      Fluent English language skills are essential, while fluency in German or any other language would be beneficial.
