Aerospace Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) Designer

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Are you ready to soar in the world of aviation innovation? We are seeking a skilled and experienced Aerospace EWIS Designer to join our client. Your mission will be to contribute directly to the enhancement and development of our Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) for our cutting-edge aircraft.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within the EWIS team to craft and implement EWIS Designs for the aircraft.
- Develop standard and commercial part models specific to the City (Connectors, backshells, etc.).
- Create meticulous 3D harness routing models in synchronization with schematics.
- Produce and populate 2D Formboards Drawings along with harness installation drawings.
- Design power, networking, sensors, and various system routings.
- Integrate EWIS models into the digital mock-up, ensuring adherence to defined rules.
- Generate necessary documentation for compliance with certification and aircraft standards.
- Support other systems in defining equipment interfaces and ensuring interface uniformity.
- Aid the integration team in defining space allocation models.
- Assist the prototyping team in harness integration into the aircraft and documenting non-conformities.

Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Bachelor/Master/PhD or equivalent degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in 3D EWIS Design within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in 3D electrical routing, mechanical integration, and drafting (preferably Siemens NX or CATIA V5).
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical wiring design encompassing mechanical, electrical, and thermal aspects.
- Familiarity with aviation EWIS standards and specifications such as AC43.13, AS50881.
- Strong grasp of harness installation rules including segregation, bend radius, maintainability, accessibility, and manufacturing.
- Experience with PLM systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter.
- Structured work approach, a dynamic self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years of professional experience in 3D EWIS Design within the aerospace industry.
- Understanding of electrical schematics and quality processes.
- Knowledge of EWIS Flight Test Instrumentation.
- Experience in system and requirements engineering.
