About the Maintenance Engineer opportunity
Our client produce and package Food & Beverage products at their sites in South Manchester and they are looking for an Electrically-biased Multi-Skilled Shift Technician who will be responsible for looking after Maintenance, Repair and Continuous Improvement of a busy FMCG site.
Maintenance Engineer Deliverables
- Provide Engineering Support for production activities, including Planned Preventative Maintenance and Breakdowns
- Striving for Continuous Improvement through Process Improvement opportunities and implementing change
- Provide electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process maintenance cover

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manufacture Production components and jigs.
- Maintain a safe working environment ensuring that all company and regulatory standards are always achieved.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through the identification, reporting and resolution of Non-Conformance to products and materials
- Carry out manual/CNC machining turning (sliding head), milling and surface grinding
- Perform sub assembly and bench fitting of precision tools
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Make fixtures and other work-holding devices and tools as appropriate
- Full mechanical inspection with the aid of an CMM
- Program CNC machines and the use of CAD/CAM systems
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Has completed a formal apprenticeship in a “Toolmaking” or “Fitter / Turner” discipline or has experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of CNC Machining Required
- ONC – HNC in mechanical engineering advantageous.
- To be competent in the use of engineering machinery such as:
- Milling machines, Lathes, Surface grinders, and CNC machines including sliding head.
- Capable of programming CNC machines through MDI or using CAD/CAM
- Background in Inspection.

Our client is looking for Avionics technicians with experience on rotary aircraft to join them on a 12 month contract.
Experience wanted: Avionics experience, experience on CH47 or rotary aircraft is desirable.
Responsibilities -
- Will perform assembly, disassembly, and modification of systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to address failures or implement improvements.
- Will conduct system assembly, disassembly, or overhauls.
- Will configure aerospace vehicles and operate bench test equipment.
- Will be proficient in troubleshooting complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and related electrical systems to diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical issues.
- Will validate and verify system and component testing. Will document procedures and processes to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements (e.g., repair records, test results, modifications, and inspection findings).
- Will collaborate with peers to ensure safe handling of aerospace vehicles and will provide mentoring to colleagues.
- Will work with minimal supervision.
- Ideally, the candidate will have extensive experience working on CH47 aircraft.

About the Role
