Position Summary:
As the onsite IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the IT systems and providing technical assistance to our staff both within the HQ office and across the European time zones. Seeking a innovative team player with a positive attitude and a hands-on approach who has a strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and security.
 
Major Responsibilities:
- Key onsite member of the IT team in the Oxford office.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues promptly and effectively. Working alongside the outsourced IT provider.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including but not limited to computers, printers, networks, and servers.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, ensuring reliable access to resources for all users.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement solutions for improving IT infrastructure and systems.
- Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistency in support delivery.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations.
- Coordinate with external vendors for IT-related purchases, repairs, and services as needed.
- Adhere to IT security protocols and best practices to safeguard company data and infrastructure.
- Provide remote support to staff members located across the United States, demonstrating adaptability to different time zones and communication styles.
- Provide input into strategic IT initiatives and customer discussions as required or requested.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in IT support, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance efficiency and productivity.
 
Skills and Experience:
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability, with a keen attention to detail.
- Capable and comfortable with sometimes being the only member of the IT team onsite.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Helping to suggest improvements.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting IT systems in an office environment with Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Networking, Mobile devices.
- Experience managing hardware and software suppliers is advantageous
- Azure infrastructure management experience and MS AZ-104 certified is advantageous.
- ITIL, Microsoft and Networking certifications are advantageous.
 
Desirables:
- Formal qualification in IT or computer systems
- Proven experience as in IT Support, preferably in the healthcare or life science industry.
- Strong background in cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Able to work in-office full time.
