Embedded Software Engineer 

Location: Southampton 
Salary: Up to £50k 
Job Type Permanent 

Our client is seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join their dynamic Agile Scrum team. Reporting to the Head of Software, this role focuses on developing C/C++ code for embedded systems, user interfaces, and desktop applications, while also managing software testing and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test C/C++ embedded software.
- Implement system control, video processing, and GUI applications.
- Ensure software compliance with internal standards and technical documentation.
- Conduct manual and automated software testing, including full test code coverage.
- Collaborate with architects, FPGA, and software teams to meet product requirements.

Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Experience with communication interfaces (RS232, CAN, RTP, TCP/IP).
- GUI development using commercial/open-source libraries.
- Strong testing and documentation skills.

The successful applicant will currently hold UK security clearance or be able to gain UK security clearance due to the nature of the Sector
